Licensed versions of Codenames have been announced

It was only a matter of time but unsurprisingly it has been official announced, 2 new licensed versions of Vlaada Chvátil's Mega hit Codenames: Codenames Disney Family Edition, which will include characters and locations from a variety of Disney and Pixar films, and Codenames Marvel Edition, which will feature Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and characters from Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and other Marvel Comics properties.

Sadly theses will be coming soley to North America in Q4 2017, each $25, thanks to an exclusive global licensing agreement with USAopoly. You will most likely be able to find some pop up online but you may have to pay a price for what is esentially going to be a word pack with some familiar faces thrown onto it.

I see where this works for games like Love Letter where the small footprint and wide variety of flavours appeal to a wide audience, but for Codenames it just doens't seem worth it.
